Because we believe excellence should be recognized, and we are uniquely equipped to do this in the space that we’ve been immersed in with our conferences and editorial product since 2007. Plus, we like to throw a good party on a Thursday night to break up the dead of winter!
Our methodology in selecting nominees and then winners is simple yet thorough, and keeps the focus on the important opinions: those of market participants, not ours.
Markets Media’s editorial team will identify worthy candidates via online submissions from our readership (in other words, YOU!), as well as interviews with senior market participants who are their colleagues, customers and competitors. From there, consultations with the Markets Media Advisory Board will winnow the field to the most deserving recipients. (The Markets Media Advisory Board is a small and select group comprised of some of Markets Media's closest relationships across the institutional buy side and sell side. With regard to the Markets Choice Awards, the Board acts as a tiebreaker and a backstop, advising on instances of impasse in the decision-making and ensuring that no ultra-worthy candidates were missed.)

Please note that we’re accepting self-nominations separately, so here we ask that you nominate the people and firms you know as customers, competitors and cohorts. We also have an open category, so feel free to add a category (and a nominee) if you think we’re missing something.
